Tasha Franks had emergency responders rescue her mother during Hurricane Florence as waters climbed into the first floor of their home in New Bern, N.C. Her mother was bed ridden and the tree had already fallen on the house, they had lost power, and her phone was dead, so when Tasha saw rescuers at a neighbors house she flagged them down to their place as well. "Everything was under control once I got my mom to safety," Franks said.
